Several suggestions have been made in this thread, at least some of them
with arguments for/against particular choices. You will have to evaluate
those suggestions using whatever strategy you feel most comfortable
with, same as if you were making any other choice. If I was an expert on
GUI programming then I might be able to tell you to make a particular
choice with some confidence, but in fact of the sensible options I’ve
only used one (GTK+).
