My situation is a bit different. Meko demands to be petted when I walk near
her, she enjoys being picked up (probably because I sometimes carry her
outside with me), and she'll stop off at my bed to be petted on her way to
the bedroom window; but she will not sit in my lap, and won't even stay if I
sit on the sofa beside her. She clearly isn't intimidated by my size, she
just doesn't have much use for humans who are sitting down.
I guess it's true: Dogs are from Mars, cats are from Venus. (Or is it "Men
are from fireplugs, women are from litterboxes"? Either way I understand cats
about as well as I understand women, which is to say "not much".
