> I would write it with "to": > ....it had ordered Thursday that the cables _to_ be tightened. > Is there any difference? Again, I don't know what the rule is, but here are two ways I could think of writing that: "... it had ordered Thursday that the cables be tightened..." "... it had ordered Thursday for the cables to be tightened..." I believe that "be" is correct when using "that," while "to be" would be correct when using "for." I could also be very wrong. :) Mike --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ Her voice rings in his ears like the music of the spheres* Origin: CCO BBS - capitolcityonline.net:26 (1:2320/105) SEEN-BY: 15/0 16/101 19/36 34/999 90/1 116/18 123/140 153/7715 218/700 220/60 SEEN-BY: 222/2 230/150 240/1120 250/1 261/38 100 266/404 512 267/155 275/100 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 282/1031 1056 291/1 111 320/119 219 340/400 342/13 393/68 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/267 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 801/161 189 2320/100 105 SEEN-BY: 3634/12 5020/54 1042 @PATH: 2320/105 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
