-> RH>I use whatever happens to be handy.:-) I have a big Larousse for
-> RH>French, but nothing bigger than a good tourist dictionary for
-> RH>German alas.
->
-> I've never learned French :-( But your name sounds German :-)

It used to be; my great-great-grandfather anglicized it a tad, but it
started out being from Konigsburg.

-> RH>to a perfectly good cucumber I'll never know.:) These are usually
-> RH>less than 6cm long too, if that makes any difference.
->
-> I like these mustard gherkins :-) But I don't like the sour ones.

-> RH>that's more hinderence than help. Some words are almost
-> RH>identical, and it's the almost that trips me every time.:)
->
-> This can happen to you in German/English, too: Where is "wo", and who
-> "wer" :-)

Those never tripped me, but French has a few beauties.
I spend a lot of time in La Bibliotheque, which is the same in
German.:) OTOH, I stay out of Les Libraries, which are book stores in
English. I spend too much money on cookbooks.
