-> It's a bit easier doing your own work. Anyhow, I hate doing any kind
-> of body work. I enjoy doing the mechanical types of maintance rather
-> than the "cosmetic".
Dan: Body or mechanical work I am not fussy on, BUT I do not like paying
someone else when I can do it myself cheaper.
-> My skipper has a stern line that he has marked off. He uses that as
-> a brake. We often sail up to the dock. Even under power, he cuts
-> his motor some 50 yrds before the dock...
You must remember that before last year sailing would be counted in
minutes of experience. I have to yet to get used to the distance a
heavier boat maintains its momentum and several times have had to make
use of extra reverse to slow me down, I haven't yet been able to stop
the boat before reaching the dock. The first time I sailed into Toronto
Harbour I decided to try docking at the Harbourfront Dock Masters booth,
if I hadn't chickened out at the last moment I probably would have come
close to breaking it in two.
-> You and me both! BTW, there have been some boats out on the
-> bay over the last 3-4 days. I either need to get a good
-> wetsuit or a bit bigger boat so that I can join them!
Dan, I think those early boaters needs to see a shrink, I don't care
what they are wearing it is too darn cold.
