How did _anyone_ being communist impact me? It's given a few of my Spanish
linguist friends a job in the Army...  This has zip impact on me.... but it
will sure as heck have a lot of impact on Elian (sp?) won't it?

Sure - he has nothing to lose. If he gets Elian back, he wins. If he
doesn't, he's got a subject to lambast the US with for years.

I'm suggesting that both of them escaped... except that she didn't make it.
Now you aren't answering the question. How about the East/West German part
