Tom,
Since I am just a LAC, Like Will Rogers, all I know is what I read in
the newspaper. AFAIK,the department does furnish all the basic
equipment except footwear. I am also happy to report that the City
Council just approved a pay increase for all levels.
We have a new chief, just came on board at the end of last year, and
so far he does seem to be a mover and shaker. He has already started
with more police involvement at the neighborhood level.
