This is very similar to the case of Canadian Mahar Arar, intercepted at JFK
and due to an apparent cock-up the RCMP appears to have contributed to, was
also sent overseas for torture.
He sued too, I think with ACLU assistance, but the US judge made a similar
ruling and threw the case out.
