Good to hear - I remember the NF marches in the '70s and I'd hate to see that type of thing resurface. > Our fundamental problem at the moment is th lack of an electable opposition. > It amuses me to see the "socialist" monicker - what we actually have is a > nominally socialist government implementing some policies (like identity > cards) that most of us would consider right wing. True. I used to be able to make fun of the way people here need to carry picture id (usually a driving licence) and show it on demand to anyone who asks or be refused service - most often in bars, but sometimes in stores when using a credit card. As for the politics, I'm almost ready to say that Labour needs a term or two in opposition while they remember what they're supposed to stand for. -- Tony --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
