RS> I'm going to put my cards on the table right now, and say that I have
RS> a "show me" attitude towards UFO's.
DB>
DB> Uh oh. A skeptic. ;-)
RS>
RS> They do exist, media accounts to the contrary.
:-)
RS> In other words, "eyewitness testimony" I won't buy.
RS> Photos need to be real, and legible. Same with videos.
DB>
DB> How do you know if a photo or video is real? Just curious.
RS>
RS> I really don't know that for certain at the moment.
And that is one big problem with using them as evidence. Unfortunately, the
old "I know it when I see it" doesn't cut the mustard anymore.
RS> And if I see a loony post, I'll say so.
DB>
DB> See ya back in SKEPTIC real soon now, Ross.
RS>
RS> Oh, I'll still stay in Skeptic too.
RS> But if I get moderated for calling a spade a spade, that will get me
RS> a bit ticked off.
Yeah, well...
RS> BTW, I am laughing my head off at the "face on Mars" people like
RS> Richard Hoagland, now that he's been PROVEN to be simply full of it.
DB>
DB> But, but, but -- it's a CONSPIRACY, Ross. How else could it POSSIBLY
DB> be explained?
RS>
RS> That's what Richard Hoagland and his propaganda minister, Art
RS> Goebbels, are saying.
Of course. After all, they were shown to be wrong, and that can't POSSIBLY
be true, so it MUST be a conspiracy... (I might point out to you that money
is not the _only_ reason people believe in these things, and while Hoagland
and Bell certainly make money off of this, somebody like your neighbor does
not, and _she_ is still defending it as well.)
