We don't like armed police at the best of times. Armed police with a
license to kill is something which probably will come under vastly more
scrutiny in future. Apparently now every such operation will have to have a
very senior copper in charge of the whole thing right from the start so as
to avoid any such "chinese whispers" in the future.
