JK> Yep.. IIRC, it wasn't the first time such symptoms had shown
JK> themselves but without an exporatory surgery, they couldn't be sure.
JK> When this happened during the play's 2nd night run, they did the
JK> exploratory and found a rotten appendix
Better they find it before it killed you, though... :) My mother had
appendicitis when she was pregnant with me... Apparently we both
survived the surgery.. ;)
> But you might have just as proud of
> the costume had you made it originally for some one else.. :)
JK> It was a beautiful dress in the fashion of the time. I picked out the
JK> colors and fabric after consulting with the stage designer, we had a
JK> great time with that.
I can well imagine.. :)
>> Yes, "Don't turn your head fast!" - Live and learn :) Walking in the

> Something to focus on.... and recalibrate the spinning brain...
JK> Yeah - I have to use other senses to judge the up and down of things.
JK> I.E., you can't count on your vestibular nerve, or sensations from your
JK> feet, etc. (am I on the ground? where am I in space? Lol) when vertigo
JK> hits. These days when it does hit it is no where as severe as back when I
JK> first got it, as well. The first time it hit, I was immediately puking
JK> and the spinning was outrageous, and severe. Now if I notice a weird
JK> momentary spin, that's about as bad as it gets.
I can appreciate the relief.. ;) I periodically go through times where
I have vertigo, probably the benign positional type... sometimes, just
knowing what it is helps it pass faster... and one learns some tricks
along the way for minimizing the effects... :)

JK> If they are like Fred was, that would probably last about two weeks :)
JK> One can hope I guess :)
They don't seem to be like Fred... we are somewhat surprised that they
prefer not to have the variety... but then, they're all different... and
these more than most... (G)
>> I think it's funny that none of the 4 kittens we got from the animal

>> feral cats and were happy to not have to hunt? :)
> Or maybe because they were young enough when they were brought in to not

JK> hehe.. maybe. I found Fred in our basement when he was new born,
JK> along with the rest of his litter. SweetHeart, my sister's cat had the
JK> litter down in some hidden place in the basement, it was like Christmas
JK> in the Spring when I found that litter :) I think I was about 8 then,
JK> it was great to find them.
Then Fred probably just was a special case... that was his idiocyncasy
as a feline.. ;)
>> sure the whole family will enjoy her birthday party... :)
>> Yes, I think so. It's going to be in her home so at least if she gets
>> weary she can retire to somewhere quiet.
> That's good planning... :)
JK> Think so.. She has a large rambling home up in the catskills and I'm
JK> sure her family hires help for her to maintain it.
If they aren't just doing the help for her themselves... :)
>>> That does sound good.. :) Will there be people there that might
>>> appreciate having something be gluten free, though...?
>> I think I'll ask around. That's easy enough to do. I can make both
>> versions as well... that might be the best thing to do.
> If your daughter is planning to come, she'd appreciate it, probably...
> and I've been noticing that there are a lot more people around now that
> are gluten-free either by choice or by necessity... We have some of each
> in our church now...
JK> Yes, there are a good number of people who are gluten free these days.
JK> I just may make the gluten free one and forgo the 'gluten' one. I've
JK> gotten very good at making gluten free great tasting cakes, and most
JK> people can't tell the difference. You just have to have the right
JK> ingredients :)
As long as they don't have too much "bean-y" flours, I can quite enjoy
the non-gluten cakes and such... but the beans make me too gassy...
