Is this story true, about the guy inthe sneakers and cut-offs on thr cruiser? 
If so, that had to be a humbling little experience. I've seen some old guys 
who've been riding bikes like that for years and years, not just for fun and 
fitness the way most do, but for basic transportation. Some of these ol' 
fellows can really get on down the road, and think nothing of it!
