I have one of those, it cost me less than 200UKP - a bargain. It 
replaced an HP Laserjet IIID.

Mine is connected to my network via an Axis parallel-port print server 
and is used from OS/2 (good, printer-specific drivers), Windows 98SE, 
Windows XP Home and Windows XP Pro. It uses PCL and Brother's emulation 
of Postscript 3. Print quality is very good, speed is good (much faster 
than the Laserjet), it's fairly quiet, and the duplexing capability is 
great. I've had it for about 6 months, so I'm unable to comment on 
long-term reliability. It's not as sturdy as the Laserjet, but it's half 
the size. The price of consumables seems reasonable.

The one drawback, from an OS/2 perspective, is that the highest 
resolution appears to be done in software and isn't available in the 
OS/2 driver. However, the 600dpi which /is/ available looks pretty good 
to me.
