| subject: | noisy PPC (Mac) video fan.. |
AA> Hi Alan.. I identified the source of the annoying fan noise in the AA> PPC. The video card has a small fan on top of a chip. The video AA> is AGP-based. Do you think it would be safe to simply seize the AA> fan's operation or just pry it off? I've never seen an AGP video AA> card with a fan on it before. i would replace the fan... just like is done in power supplies... the fan is there because the chip it is attached to is the GPU chip and it can get as hot as the CPU chip on your main board... i doubt that it is a case of over engineering... )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 3634/12 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
