Its clear that Roy is experiencing some on going hassles and he
obviously isnt a dill. In some ways the biggest problem I have with
the point stuff is that its so bloody pathetic about the error messages
and stuff when things do go wrong. The message is usually singularly
unhelpful about what its objecting to, let alone pointing you at the
area where the problem is. Often there is no error message at all, just
things done go as they should with the messages themselves. And the
documentation tends to be pretty atrocious. And when you are effectively
using quite a bit of it as a PKT to QWK converter, there are quite a few
bits of the less than idea software in the chain.

Essentially what I am saying is that there needs to be some pretty big
benefits in going point to make those hassles warranted. The only one is
the reduction in the online time. Currently its my perception that thats
not a good enough tradeoff.

AM> I would never have done it without the comparatively easy addition of
AM> running maximus to make qwks as well, I must add.

Yeah. I have actually run a Maximus BBS for a while so thats not a major
problem. I guess part of my objection is also just the philosophical one
that its all a very long winded way to get what is effectively a PKT to
QWK converter.
