  The flower buds are very sensitive to changes in moisture and
  temperature levels. Most homes are drier and hotter than the
  greenhouses/flower shops where the plants are raised and sold. The
  bigger the buds, the more environmentally sensitive they become; and
  the change was too great for them to handle.
  Mine routinely flower after any short hard dry period, regardless of
  the temperature. House/window temps are fine. I have a couple plants
  that have been flowering sporadically for 3-4 months. As soon as
  they've finished flowering, I withhold water until the newest growth
  starts to shrivel, then resume watering gradually.
