This is the crux of the matter, is it not..  your concern that some
devastating, or damaging amendment might slip through the cracks by
a few radicals or power mongers?

Trust me, should a radical amendment be proposed, it will likely be
knocked down before reaching the RC's.  If the *Cs were to press an
amendment through that denigrates Policy for their own benefit, any
change we make now would be in vein, as they have that ability now.

I'd rather take my chances with moving ahead...
