   OK, in the BIOS I only have auto and PIO settings - I'll set it back to Auto

There does not appear to be any parameter to enable any "safe burn" type
function. I have now added the parameter --priority 3,2 to see if that helps. I
have found that removing the speed parameter (I had set the speed to 2x) and
letting the program decide for itself (reporting up to 4.5X on this 4X drive)
seems to be better, however I still do get some failed burns.

  thanks for these references, I will check them out. I believe my DVR-105 is
already region-free however I could be wrong.
