DW> 10 years later and Dave you will say that the traditional fiber optic
DW> is "virtually standing still"... :)
DR> In 10 years, there will be another option. :)
Heh, true... I do remember the days of 1200bps and 2400bps modems, that
was when the V.42bis was first introduced... :)
DW> ADSL provides 6Mbps downstream (to you) 1.5Mbps upstream (from you)
DR> Not bad, but still, with the cable modem your transfer capabilities
DR> are the same both ways. Thanks for the info though.
But all the bandwidth are mine, MINE, MINE!!! :)
DW> So CND$65 a month... not the regular T-1 rate, because you are not
DW> getting the extra IP address that you usually gets with T1...
DR> You mean you don't get a static IP? Strange, as I have one with
DR> the cable modem account.
You do get a static IP, however, you can get only ONE IP... unless you
pay the commerical rate (like ISPs), you will not get extra IPs to
hook other machines up with...
However... We can always run proxies... :)
... Have you driven a Ford over your Windows CD lately?
