Actually, I think I've sussed out the problem.

I needed a gender changer and because they didn't have one, got a male-male
serial cable. Well, in fact it turned out to be a laplink cable, which I'm
told has some of the wires crossed.

Heheh - I think you're the file request server's most popular caller. :)

Actually, I might take you up on your offer for a while, if you don't mind
- just the box and the gender changer cable/connector - I already have two
serial cables.

That will take the pressure off me to rush into anything during the busy
time of the year.

If you could send it to me at 8 Mitchell Circuit, Port Macquarie, NSW 2444,
it would be much appreciated.

Anyone that wants to send money is also most welcome.

AS>> I have to figure out what to do on the comms side - I don't think

 KD> Network them some how?

Frankly, it doesn't appeal to me.

Besides, that means the machine have to be close together, which can't
always be the case, and somone might want to use one of them in a way
that's going to affect the networking setup.

Then there is the cost side as far as the Amiga goes. :(
