Honestly I can't help you much, as I've never ported a 2.0 app to 1.0.
Further, I've not yet done any database work in 2.0 (though I've done a fair
amount in 1.0).
In general though (I'm speculating here, so don't take this as gospel) I
would think it could be done with a minimum of problem, if you're very
careful.
First, if at all possible, I'd recommend you write it in 1.0 and port forward
to 2.0. If that's simply out of the question, which it may be, the way I'd
approach this is to get familiar with writing database apps in Delphi 1.
Spend a weekend just screwing around with it so you *know* how it works.
Then, in your Delphi 2 program don't do anything that you can't do in Delphi
1. Don't use any Win95 specific components (threads, sliders, etc) or write
any 32-bit code.
Though this should minimize your trouble, I'd still bet you're going to have
a headache when it comes time to port backwards.
Sorry I can't be more help.
