-> AL> My dad had invention for my my mom's sweing room and for my broth
-> AL> bedroom that you may find interesting:
->
-> How wonderful! I am saving these directions in case I should
-> get rich enough to afford a carpenter! My husband wants to do
-> things like this but he's much better with computers than tools,
-> and I'm totally inept.
Tell him its a virtual table and then mebbe he;ll get the idea.
-> AL> So...in an instant my brother's train set could be converted into
-> AL> their bedroom, or my mother's sewing project-in-progress could
-> be flown AL> on the ceiling of the den and a party take place right
-> underneath it.
-> OH, this would be so neat for Tom's electric trains and my stuff.
-> A friend's brother is a carpenter, wonder how much he'd charge
-> to do one of those for me? hmmmmm....
Hmmm....thinking....full price lumber yard word charge about 40 for
each board max 2 bucks for the cuts to custom cut to your space
((I find if I do this at the lumber yard it saves alot of hassle
and even more mess)....40 for the rope and hooks and eyes and
rope anchors should get you top of the line quality. So 82 for materals
*plus tax, if any in your state* for one flying board. or 124 for
two....the three hours labor to hook it up and level it off for use.
Three hours in S.F. would be around 60-80 bucks So the hole project
should sail in at under $210
Hint: If the train table is larger than 8 x 6 then build a hinged trap
door in the center of it, large enough for the "trainmaster" to pop up
through it to set up and repair tracks.
Hope you get it set up! These were great in our small ranch house of
five kids.....and later in my oldest sister's tiny apartment she
had Dad build one with edges for toy storage, that as the boys grew
older they removed the edges and converted to slot car racing and train
use.
It turned out to be a great selling point for the apartment when they
moved on to buy there own, larger house.
Lates.
