Pulling and re-seating all the connectors and socketed chips was my first
step also.  No go though, although I did get different colored bars on the
screen!  It did get the sound board working though, and thankfully I found
the volume control!

There are a set of three AA cells for the setup CMOS that are dated 1994,
and are pretty dead (no leakage though!).  This may be preventing the
startup routines from being accessed, and causing the boot problem.  Will
learn more as time goes on...   :-)
