Most programs that handle the quoting, put in the initials of the sender at 
the beginning of each line.  You can see yours above JK.  Some problems 
mis-identify them, or put other things in, like the > greater than sign, but 
initials are the most common.  Some programs allow you to change this too.  
It is to easily identify the quoted material, but like anything else, can be 
annoying if overdone.
