Pulling and reseating is often not enough though. You must use the old "pink pearl" trick. The pins must be shiny silver not dull grey. Rub an eraser gently along the pins to remove the age old grime. (don't use the gritty ink erasers they will remove the plating, we don't want that!) BTW in my experience this works better than all the cleaning liquids one might try.
