JK> I read a really scary article about dog and cat food yesterday... they
JK> mentioned the "pet kill" of 2007 (I think that was the year) so many
JK> pets died from the chinese imports in our pet food.. Ron and I (and our
JK> pets) were lucky because we didn't buy the brand that caused the
JK> biggest problems then (Diamond whatever)..
I remember that... We were using Dad's back then, with, I think, the
occasional Purina product... Wegman's supplier as I remember it was one
of the affected ones... since then, they switched to having Dad's supply
them...
JK> Can you believe so many companies are still doing the same damn thing
JK> as then .. at least in some cases.. I can find the link if you want.
JK> The really really scary thing was that the suppossed wholesome natural
JK> "meat" with no "by products" pet food "blue" something.. was actually
JK> created by a marketer.. just to get past the bad name other pet foods
JK> had gotten in 2007.....and his pet food that he was pushing as all
JK> natural and heathy was really no different.
I can believe it... unfortunately... And just because they make a big
deal about the good stuff doesn't mean they don't also have bad stuff in
there, too...
JK> geez... if I had the energy I'd make all of our pets their pet
JK> food.. :)
I threatened to do that for baby food, but then chickened out...
JK> Fred (our alley-cat type kitty from way back) had to have
JK> purina fish stew, and then he had to have whatever the other offering
JK> was (meat? I forget :)) but it was like clockwork.. he'd go a couple
JK> days with fish stew then forget it you had to switch :)
No accounting for taste... (G)
