Taken literally you're right, but JCL is a form of programming.

That just shows inconsistency on your part. It's ok to waste 10
minutes by being late, but not ok to waste 10 minutes by being less
productive at work. People who don't give a fuck about whether
it's 9:30 or 9:37 when they walk in the door in the morning wouldn't
think it's important.

When someone comes in late, it's always going to be an important excuse
rather than just "I felt tired and slept in", or "I try and
squeeze the
most amount of sleep in by catching the last possible train, and if it's
10 minutes late, then I'm late". And when someone comes in late, then
it's taken as an excuse for others to come in late.

The best thing about the Navy was the fact that  you could be charged if
you were so much as a minute late.
