  That thought never entered my mind! My real point is that simple answers 
that make unsafe assumptions may not always be the best response. My other 
point is that when a safe solution already exists (CHGEXT.C in SNIPPETS 
avoids all the pitfalls and is only 14 lines long, excluding comments), why 
reinvent the wheel?
