I *detest* that rule.....have done ever since we got cable almost 18 years
ago when we moved into this house.   At that time, we were
getting US feeds from Buffalo, NY and Erie, PA.....and CBC still had an
affiliate in London, On.    And at that time (and maybe still)
Canadian stations could request that their feed be substituted for
*other* Canadian stations, too !   There were times when I'd have the
London feed on 4 channels....and it would go away -- all 4 channels would
go blank.   Aarghh !! 

I just checked with my son about commercial minutes in prime time.
Apparently it did come up in his 'Media Law' class -- while he's not sure
of the actual number of minutes allowed, we are lower and he thinks it's a
couple of minutes per hour.
