RM> Btw, in my recent ranting, I left out a big plus for pointing vs RM> olring - better message base management, because all the msgs are in RM> one big pile, instead of being scattered through different files RM> dnloaded on different days. That's an annoying feature of an olr RM> system. Thats also available with OLRs, generally called 'database' QWK packet readers for example. Speed Read (no relation) appears to be about the most popular of those for QWKs. Atleast one of them even keeps the database in packed format, although thats pretty irrelevant now with normal universal disk compression. RM> I find myself using dv quite a bit to pull quotes from older packets. Another approach is the OLX IN and OUTBOX approach. Works extremely well for me. I keep 30 days and its rare to not have it scroungable from those. --- Maximus/2 2.01wb* Origin: Ten Minute Limit (3:711/934) SEEN-BY: 711/934 |
