You're not assuming that a 300W power supply is actually pulling that much 
out of the power line,  are you?  The ratings of a power supply are typically 
talking about what it *can* deliver,  not necessarily what it *does* deliver. 
Then there's the efficiency of the supply to consider,  I've not all that 
often seen them rated in terms of what they actually pull out of the wall to 
deliver their rated output,  but that's another issue...
