-=> Quoting Matt Smith to John Perz <=-
JP> . . . He raised the matter of assault weapons, which has been
JP> politically difficult for him since he promised the National Rifle
JP> Association last summer that repealing the 1994 ban on 19 kinds of
JP> assault weapons would be one of his legislative priorities. The ban
JP> supported by the vast majority of voters, including suburban
JP> Republicans, whom Mr. Dole needs if he is to carry states like Ohio,
JP> which Mr. Clinton won in 1992 and where the President is leading in
JP> polls now.
MS> Dole will win Ohio regardless of whether he sells out on the gun
MS> issue or not. Union-card workers dominate that state, and they feel
MS> sold out by the Clintons on NAFTA.
Dole voted for NAFTA, too . . . along with GATT, the "Crime" Bill, the
Brady Bill & the Terror Bill. I don't know what you mean by "if" Dole
sells out on the gun issue . . . . . Since Dole voted for the rifle & mag
ban, it would be a pretty stupid waste of his time to do anything about
repealing it.
It looks like the Conflict of Opposites really works, as the Sheeple are
supposed to keep one eye focused on Schumer/Klinton & the other focused on
the NRA, while Fascist Traitor Trash like Dole, Gingrich, Phil Gramm, etc.
dump behind their backs. Its a pretty thin veneer . . . .
