| subject: | Moving into OS/2 program |
Hi All: PF> A very good book (despite "client server" in the title is): PF> PF> CLIENT-SERVER PROGRAMMING WITH OS/2 2.0 by Robert Orfali and Dan PF> Harkey, both with IBM, San Jose, CA. Published by Van Nostrand PF> Reinhold. First Edition, June 1991, Second Edition (V 2.0) due PF> in September 1992. 1,026 pages. ISBN 442-00826-0; $39.95 US. IBM PF> order number G325-0650; $34.00. I would just like to voice my recommendation of this book, also. The book was purchased on Peter's recommendation and it would be an understatement to say that I have not been dissapointed. My copy shows "Client/Server Programming with OS/2 2.1", Third Edition. The authors are the same. ISBN 0-422-01833-9. I was very thankful that I had purchased the example code on diskette, once I got into some more indepth examples. The style of the book is professional and factual. These guys can get their point across very well, too. They lay it out in such consice terms that an average programmer like myself can make total sense of it. This book contains many chapters that I would consider to be worth the price of the book.
