For those unaware, the B-52's landing gear is centered on the fuselage, a
'bicycle' arrangement rather than the 'tricycle' arrangement seen on the
vast majority of civilian aircraft (the only other one that comes to mind
that has a similar arrangement is the U-2).  The gear can rotate on its
vertical axis in order to remain aligned with the runway even though the
aircraft itself may be oriented considerably differently - as Phil noted.
