Many programs do. "Re:" is really an annoying thing. Worse is
the idiotic "Re[2]:" and beyond some some programs graft on.

Yes, it's really something that should be handled on the receiving
end. Even if the person's program of choice can't handle such
sorting, it's not like the average of three messages a day that
this list had (before this meta discussion) is that burdensome.
Rather than split the list to prune out almost nonexistent chaff,
why not have the approach that used to be done, where useful
messages were collected into TSE_TIP bundles every month or three?
Anyone who doesn't want to "endure" the list could simply grab
such a compendium every other month.
