The Seymour Duncan Acoustic Tube works pretty well.  It's a black tube that 
fits into the sound hole and is not easy to see (except for the black cable), 
plus it has a volume control on one end.  The cable is looped at the end to 
fit over the strap button and has an inline 1/4" jack.
I had to loosen the strings on my 12-string to install it, but you could 
probably get it into a 6-string on the fly without a problem.
