Hello Paul!

AW>> I wonder how you went with the doc. Did you try and install

AW>> as per the instructions? The main hassle with the install is

PE> I started to, and am halfway through fmail at the moment (the thing is

PE> this is meant to be a "minimum configuration", but if you follow

PE> the instructions, you'll end up with EVERYTHING installed).

I was using your methodology in the original point.txt as a template

for my efforts. I later downloaded your minos2qwk stuff and noticed how

you've done it now with generic config and system files. That will work

for stuff like the RA limits.ctl but not for config.ra and messages.ra.

I meant it's simple enough to document a config where everything in

c:\ra is deleted at the completion of the install, except for config.ra

and messages.ra. But what happens when the person wants to reconfig the

message areas? They still need raconfig and associated files. Unless

there is a way to get mkqwk to read the fmail config files instead.

PE> I have been updating the docs as I went along. Also, I don't

PE> like the way you have used disk letters other than C. I don't

PE> use C in reality, but I think it is conceptually easier if they

PE> are all on the one disk.

Fair enough.

 PE> I also

PE> started putting everything in the one directory, like I did with the OS/2

 PE> setup.

So is everything in subdirectories under c:\fd?

AW>> having to add a menu option to RA, and using it to shell out

AW>> just to generate exitinfo.bbs so as to keep mkqwk happy.

PE> Haven't got that far yet. Oh, that's another thing, you have the sample

PE> batch file listed in the document instead of a separate file.

Yeah I can see the attraction of having it as a separate file, although

I found it quite straightforward to copy and paste from the main doc to

create qwk.bat and limits.ctl.

Regards, Alan
