I would dump both Notepad and Wordpad and use one of the freeware excellent
text editors out there that are out there, such as Crimson (Emerald)
Editor, Context, Notepad++, and EditPad Lite.

You guys are really making a mountain out of a molehill and would be much
better served by a program that was not an afterthought like Notepad and
Wordpad are.
