12358d88e5c6 tech Hello Mike - CA>> My recent arrangements of MP3/WMA traditonal Christmas CA>> MIDI music is my most recent speed bump. CA>> I do not write music, I arrange existing well known music CA>> in the way(s) I think it should be performed. On CD-DA CA>> when played on a stereo system I get 'looks' that tell me CA>> they don't believe the music is my own arrangement. MR> What we're talking about here is the role of the musical MR> conductor or in recording terms, the producer. For example MR> if the early Beatles hadn't met Sir George Martin there is MR> a possibility they would have been just another forgotten MR> group. What Sir Martin did was just as creative and MR> influential as anything the Lennon/McCartney team came up MR> with. Another example is the Michael Jackson album Thriller MR> which was produced by Quincy Jones. Had someone else been MR> in charge it's not sure the album would have been as good. I am told the person or person(s) who edit the finished Hollywood productions can make or break the efforts of all of the actors, producers, and directors. MR> Like you I enjoy creating and producing my own MIDI files. MR> For example I'll take a song and tinker with the instrument MR> arrangements until they sound pleasing to me. Sometimes if MR> you were to compare the before and after results, the MR> original sounds like the "unplugged" version and my version MR> raises the hair on the back of your neck. It's scary to MR> have that much power! Hehehe! I have an example of just that at my webpage. One of my Christmas music files was originally just two pianos and now it is an orchestra with a 'cathedral' sound and a choir accompaniment. When I first played it for my older sister she cried. When I played it again for my mother she cried after hearing the original and then my version. I guess if your 'art' makes people cry it must be good or very very bad. :-) > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich - DOS Ghost \o , > __o/ > / > www.undercoverdesign.com/dosghost/faf/ < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
