subject: Moving into OS/2 programming

You've got it already (online). If you install the OS/2 toolkit included
with Watcom, it will install all the *.INF files (from IBM) in a folder
for you. Alternatively, you can scan the cdrom for *.INF (although the
file names on disk aren't that self explanatory).

You've got the same toolkit that someone buying IBM's own Cset++ compiler has.

These books are also available in printed form. Call IBM.

CH> (Why are there so few 3rd party books on OS/2 programming, anyways?)

Because the official IBM documentation is good enough. A lot of the stuff
(schildt et al) is just recylced dos crap, so be careful.

A very good book (despite "client server" in the title is):

CLIENT-SERVER PROGRAMMING WITH OS/2 2.0 by Robert Orfali and Dan
Harkey, both with IBM, San Jose, CA. Published by Van Nostrand
Reinhold. First Edition, June 1991, Second Edition (V 2.0) due in
September 1992. 1,026 pages. ISBN 442-00826-0; $39.95 US. IBM order
 number G325-0650; $34.00.

Note that I think it is in a 3rd edition now.

Van Nostrand Reinhold (the publisher) has made it their own personal
mission to release many good os/2 programming books -- look for them.
