Wyatt, you've got to tell your mailer my last name is penney, not penny.
I keep catching your messages while looking through the lists of all the
messages.
WD> Think about this, when the bill passed in the House to dump
WD> the assualt weapons ban or any other Gun control measure
WD> did'nt make the vote who gets the blame?
WD> is it the GOA? is it the JPFO? or maybe Nolan Penny?
Since none of the above were even able to vote on it, I don't see your
point.
However, if you want my personal opinion on why it didn't make it, I'd
say that I think a lot had to do with getting re-election votes. They
can cry to the gun owners that they tried, and rejoice with the gun
control fanatics that it didn't make it. And hopefully get votes from
them both. If you don't understand that, watch Dole for a little while.
WD> You sit here and badmouth them but you don't bother to see
WD> what they do acomplish.
If I murder your wife, but change your infants diaper does that absolve
me of the murder?
WD> There's fifty states out there not
WD> just Maryland, it's the Grassroots eforts that get things done
WD> so instead of bitching, get up and do something instead of waiting
WD> for someone else to do it for you. It's the NRA members in Arkansas
WD> that got us our carry law, not someone in Virginia.
Yes, that "grass roots" effort really worked here in Maryland didn't it!
Not one of our lovely elected officials have heard from the local gun
groups apparently. Not a single person I know here in Maryland has any
knowledge of the local NRA affiliated group. Only here in this
conference did I ever even hear of one, and they've never written me
back when I asked them for information in a letter sent about six weeks
ago.
I pay the NRA money, I expect certain things for that money. One of the
things I especially expect for that money is to at the very least keep
members informed of bills and other legislation happening within their
state, and nation wide. I also expect lists of names, addresses, and
phone numbers so that as a member I can express my own views directly.
The NRA failed on every count here in Maryland. Not some counts, but
*every* count, in my opinion.
WD> Get off your Duff quit your bitching and work for what you want
WD> the NRA is'nt a form of welfare. The NRA will show you how to
WD> organize and help you out but these are your laws. Dont sit
WD> around and wait for a handout from the NRA it won't come.
You make a lot of assumptions here Wyatt. And pretty much they're
wrong.
I'm the guy in this conference catching a lot of grief for daring to
suggest people use their own voices, and daring to suggest the NRA isn't
god appointed. I took exception to calling non-NRA members freeloaders.
As if the NRA isthe only way to keep your gun.
I'm the little nut here that's been squawking about contacting your
congress critters yourself, "getting of your duff" if you will, and
*not* keeltowing to the NRA and the NRA line, or expecting the NRA to do
it all for you.
