Replying to a message of Tony Ingenoso to Adam Flinton: TI> From: "Tony Ingenoso" TI> Right. And all that stuff flies by itself onto the shelves on magic TI> carpets. Got any idea what the culture of long haul truckers is in TI> the US? I remember during the last trucker's strike, in some areas non-strikers had to be convoyed by state police and some strikers parked their rigs to block the fuel pumps at truck stops (if I owned the stop and somebody tried that I'd tell him to move it, if he refused *I'd* move it with a Cat D18 - and not gently). During that strike in the dead of the night out in western Nebraska somebody shot a rifle bullet through the center of the windshield of a semi on I-80; kllled the driver's wife graveyard dead, she was sitting next to him on the engine hump. Then there was the bit with the Greyhound drivers some years back, some strikers were shooting at busses full of people. Don't even want to get into what the coal miners were doing back in the 70s. ---* Origin: Bob's Soapbox, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, USA (1:379/103.104) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/103 1 633/267 |
