Yep, unfortunately human lives are anything but consistent.  Sometimes
we have more time, sometimes less.   I was recuperating from surgery
when Nigel was a baby, and that bird saved my sanity.  There's nothing
more loving and sweet than a baby grey.  It's hard not to spoil them
rotten, but your advice is correct because they expect the level of
attention they've grown accustomed to.
