Working with video remains too complicated and time consuming in many, many
ways... getting a DVD movie onto an iPad, for instance (even with
presumably user-friendly all-Apple hardware) requires the following steps:

1) 'Rip' the video from the DVD into a file on a computer.

2) Import the saved file into iTunes - hopefully, the 'ripped' file was in
a format iTunes can import - otherwise, an additional, time-consuming
file-conversion (using a 3rd-party converter utility) may be required

3) Sync the iPad with iTunes

Total time can be as 4-6 hours...
