Yes - Best Buy & Future Shop in Canada offered the $99/149 Touchpads,
'while supplies
lasted'. All were sold within about 48 hrs.

And yes, it will be interesting to see whether Amazon offers a
full-featured Android tablet as a subsidized Kindle model. (Android has
been used in limited ways - I think the Barnes & Noble Nook is actually
running Android - as is the detachable control touch-screen of at least one
model HP printer... but neither can (at least not easily!) be used as a
full-featured tablet).
