This is the reason to choose this if you must have a drive larger than
128M.

Confirm the warranty is in fact 5 years, because there could be old
stock of OEM drives around manufactured before Seagate started the 5
year program last July. All retail packaged Seagate drives have had the
5 year warranty since July, regardless of date or manufacture.

They don't need matching. The drive will operate at the lower cabability
of the drive itself or the interface. In your case, the motherboard
interface is ATA33, which will be your speed ceiling on the motherboard
interface.
The S1590 BIOS is incapable of understanding a drive larger than 128M.
I've never tested a larger one myself, but there are many BIOS around
that will hang if a drive larger than it understands is attached AND set
in the BIOS. If you get a hang, you may be able to set a drive jumper to
limit the drive size to the maximum it understands. If the jumper is
required, you may or may not be able to get the OS/2 driver to use the
whole drive. Dani might be able to tell you what to expect.
If you don't need to boot from it, then any size the OS/2 driver
understands is acceptable, as OS/2 doesn't depend at all on the BIOS for
a non-boot device. Simply don't set the drive as enabled in the first
BIOS screen if you don't need to boot from it.
