subject: Hi!

GC>Walkers in general make great trail horses if you want to
GC>travel any distance and still be able to sit comfortable
GC>the next day. I would rather ride 20 miles on a TWH than
GC>one mile on a Arab (or 1/2 Arab). My body is too old for
GC>all that "bounce". Bloodlines really do make a difference
GC>in the horse as a whole, but I would rather ride our
GC>"worst" TWH than most any other breed. About the only other
GC>breed I would like to try would maybe be one of the Pasos.
I'm reading old messages, so excuse the late reply. (I hope this one gets
out! I'm feeling rather invisable these days!)
I'd love to get an older steady TWH for my husband to ride so he can enjoy
riding with me. He has a bad back and really hates the jarring he gets
from a trot. Of course, if he learned to relax, he'd be jarred less!
My 1/2 Arab 3 year old filly has a wonderful trot, though. She's so
flexible and soft that you think you are floating on air! I don't sit her
trot much, though. She's only been under saddle for 5 months. Her canter
is like a carousel horse. Her "float time" is incredible and she's so easy
to ride. So, even if I had a TWH, I'd ride my Phoenix. She's the best
horse I've EVER ridden!
