Hi! Kurt, In a message to All you wrote: KW> If Windows95 is still on topic here :) I'm tempted to load up KW> Widows95 in my BBS VM. This Fidonet Win98SE config lives & works in a Ubuntu 10.04 VirtualBox PC (vBox), and has done so since late February. I run another Win98SE vBox that looks after our LAN's email, collecting & sending from several accounts, and consolidating the inbound, and, providing a backup by duplicating inbound between physical PCs. There's another linux distro running near 24/7 in another vBox but that's a different story. KW> Has anyone figured out a way to mitigate security issues with an OS KW> that Microsoft hasn't patched in several years? I haven't worried about this aspect as the only ports/daemons open to the world are not 'well known' in the TCP/IP community (24554[binkP] & 60119[NNTP]), and no one has bothered to hack them yet. There are a few gotchas installing & running Win9x machines in vBox-en. Let me know if can help. Cheers, Paul. ---* Origin: "Crunch!, snap!, crackle!, pop!" goes the infantry.
