-> Many of us in GEMS used to finish the cleanup with a light coating
-> of TV tuner contact cleaner to leave a small deposit of oil in the
-> small pores of the metal contacts to delay corrosion resulting from
-> the salt air here on the right coast.

TW> Actualy for hte medical equipment they recomended leaving the Contacts
TW> Dry. The Chips had a tendenacy to work their way out of the sockets
TW> anyhow with the Heatup/CoolDown cycles.
TW> In fact Reseating All chips was part of the Quarterly PM routine.

We use fiberglass brushes on the chip legs
before reinsertion. We also use Caig brand
chemicals (like Deoxit) on critical contacts.
